• I set up a staging site to transform my The7 theme Visual Composer 4yo site into an Elementor Pro one with Hello Elementor theme. Got rid of all old VC and theme and then not just sidebars vanished [not such a calamity as can be manually remade] but under Appearance > Widgets this item disappeared. Only see themes and menu. If I add Hestia theme widgets and many other things return again.
    But I’d like to use Hello theme.

    How to get widgets back?
    I really want sidebars. And to be able to assign different ones to posts and pages as needed.

  • I am also searching for the same question. I can’t figure out how to bring the widgets back to make the sidebars without adding custom code. So bumping this thread to keep it active and hopefully, someone has an answer

    Update: I actually just found out how. If you follow the stack overflow tutorial and add the code to your theme files in the hello theme then the widget sidebars come back.

    @ellinaux THANK YOU!!!!

    However, can’t make multiple sidebars unless I add a plugin for that or know how to code. I do wish to minimize bloat and number of plugins.

    Also, everything must be CSS styles with this, as no styles exist. So, I think, in the end, it may be easier and faster to leave it to Elementor.

    After all, I guess if I make single post templates [or pages if need certain templates] and WC post template/s I can add the 30% column right and drag into it elements and widgets or and global widgets to be my sidebar/s for various sections of the site. And save that column as a global widget while at it.

    In which case don’t even need that widget area. Especially when using Hello Elementor theme, all MUST be templated in advance.
