How can I enable/use the Events Manager Widgets?

Using a 2024 or 2023 theme, the widgets aren’t available from the sidebar when editing a page.

I’m using Events Manager 6.4.7 on WordPress 6.4.3 and the standard 2024 theme.

If I try to edit the Events page that the plugin creates when it is installed, the page appears to have no content. There is no block to configure the events list that is shown when the page is published and viewed.

Is it only the Events Manager Widgets that are missing or are there no Widgets available when creating a new post? If it’s the latter then I think this would be a question for the support of the 2024 theme. I see the following:

Notably, block themes do away with traditional widgets and widget areas, replacing them entirely with blocks. This means you can position blocks wherever you would have previously used widgets.

This is on the following webpage: https://wpdeveloper.com/twenty-twenty-four-theme-review/

It’s only the Events Manager Widgets that are missing. I can see all the “standard” ones, but there is nothing related to events or the Events Manager calendar.

Editing the template or blocks only offers the same list of widgets to add.

The documentation mentions going to Appearance -> Widgets, but that option has been removed (for a couple of years it seems): https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/wordpress-event-widgets/

If I switch to the 2021 theme, then I can see the Appearance ->Widgets option but this only appears to let me add the Widget to the page Footer.

Has this plugin not been updated to work with the default themes since 2021?

The Events Manager team should have converted the widgets to blocks to be compatible with block themes. It’s disappointing that they haven’t done that.

Is there an example default template that the widgets work with, or have been tested with?

The functionality of this plugin looks ideal, but the methods of including and styling events on pages leaves a lot to be desired.
