• PLEASE HELP!!! I went to access my widgets and all the options where to drop and drag are missing!!??

The sidebars were there at least a week ago – and I have not accessed my dashboard or amended anything since!?

I was using wordpress version 3.3 but updated to 3.3.1 hoping this would solve the problem!?

I am using THESIS theme (which supposedly has 8 widget options) but none are visible!

The only thing that is available when visiting the widgets page is “available widgets” but no where to drop and drag them?

Please advise – I have no idea how this has happened or how to fix it!?

  • So I’m assuming you mean on the widgets page, the area to the right that will normally show your sidebars and other widget areas isn’t there? If that’s the case, it sounds like you don’t have any widgetized areas registered, which is something that happens in your functions.php file (well usually does, depends on your theme). So if that function isn’t found, you won’t have any areas to drag widgets too. You can read more about widgetizing themes here.

Thank you for your prompt response and suggestion.

Yes – the sidebar in my widgets is missing.

I did have a widgetized area registered it has been working perfectly for a year and then suddenly…disappeared??

I will follow your link – Thank you. But I do not understand what has gone wrong? Nothing in my CSS has been touched and the problem happened before I updated to the new version of WordPress.

Thank you again for your assistance.
