Widgets overlapping in sidebar – Max Magazine

That didn’t work for me, removed the lines in custom.js and functions.php, the photos in sidebar still overlap. Any thoughts much appreciated

One curious thing is that if you load the home page and then you go to some category and go back to the home page the overlapping is no longer there. The isssue is at the first load.

Yeah it’s bizarre. If anyone figured it out, please let me know I’ve been messing around with this for a few weeks now.

Is there any way to make a double load of the sidebar in order to avoid the overlapping in the “first load”?

I found a partial fix at:

you need to modify the custom.js in this way:

$(window).load(

	jQuery('#sidebar').masonry({
		itemSelector: '.widget'
	});

);

adding the $(window).load( );` but now the Carousel, featured and slider are not showing well…

No I will try applying this to all. Will let you know.

Forget it about the `$(window).load();

Move the

` jQuery(‘#sidebar’).masonry({
itemSelector: ‘.widget’
});`

`To the very bottom of the custom.js and save it.

Thanks for posting Misael. jQuery(‘#sidebar’) isnt in the custom.js though, not of which I can see.

Navigate to /wp-content/themes/max-magazine/js and you will find the custom.js file.

Does anyone know where to find the following line in the code:

(should be under header div id content/ container)

`<div id = “widget_sp_image-2”
class = “widget widget_sp_image masonry-brick”
style position: absolute; top:105px; left:0px”> `

If the position is changed to :inherit and the top margin to :100px it should fix the problem, because all widgets are styled :inline and this is overwriting the height of the widgets.
