Widgets & Other customization won’t save

  • So I have been having something buggy going on which is driving me crazy. The WordPress install is updated to 4.8 and I am running on SKT Magazine theme.

    I am having a hard time making any changes to things in the backend. For instance, I tried something simple like updating the header image yesterday and it just wouldn’t not save it (the image size etc was correct). Similarly with widgets, I drop a new widget in and it won’t save it. Any changes I try to make to widgets that are there, won’t save either.

    It doesn’t matter if I’m in the dashboard or a live preview, things just aren’t saving. I can post etc fine, but I need to be able to control the widgets.

    I have managed to get back some functionality, by uninstalling plugins and changing the theme to something else and back again (I had the same issue with other themes). But I am still building the site and so I need to install new plugins. But when I do, thats when it gets all screwy again and widgets won’t save.

    Is this likely a theme issues, widget compatibility (all of my widgets are up to date) or something else?

  • There might be a conflict with some plugin or theme.

    First of switch to default theme and check if the problem persists. If it does you must start turning off plugins one by one until saving works.
