• I am managing a site for a friend https://www.dreamscoffeelounge.co.uk and have two widgets in the right hand column for his Tripadvisor ratings. One is for a certificate and one is the rating form to fill in. Both widgets work fine on all pages except the “Afternoon Tea” page where a place holder for the widget loads but the rest of it doesn’t. If I remove the form from the page the widgets load. If I put the contact form (from the contact page) on the afternoon tea page the widgets load. But with the “booking form” on the page the widgets don’t load.

It has to be some interaction between that particular form and the widgets but I have no idea what. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi nickdgreen can you test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fourteen. This is just to see if your theme has an issue with this plugin.

Hi mbrsolution. I activated the Twenty Fourteen theme and the results is the same the Tripadvisor widgets load correctly on all pages, including the contact us page with an FS generated contact form, except the “Afternoon Tea” page with the FS generated booking form. Let me know if you would like the form config details. I’m also happy to set you up with temporary WordPress admin access user name and password (sent externally to the forum) if it helps.

    Thanks for the quick response

    Nick

Hi Nick can you do a test and create another page but do not publish the page. Name this page what ever you want. Carry out the same action in this new page the same as the Afternoon Tea page that does not work. Sometimes pages and post become corrupted.

    Hi,
    1. Added new page “test page” with no on page content,
    2. Previewed page widgets loaded correctly,
    3. Added [si-contact-form form=’3′] only to page content,
    4. Previewed page widgets did not load.

Definitely something about this form that prevents the widgets from loading.
You can see an image of the form configuration here

Hi, do you have another form you could test in the new page you have created?

As I explained in my original post I had tried the Contact Form on the Afternoon Tea Page and the widgets worked as they are meant to. I did however repeat the process as you requested.
    1. Test Page no content other than the right hand column – widgets work
    2. Test Page with [si-contact-form form=’1′] (the contact form) – widgets work
    3. Test Page with [si-contact-form form=’3′] (the booking form) – widgets don’t work.

    regards
    Nick

I suspect that the booking form has an error somewhere.

    And……

Sorry for not adding more information. You might want to either copy the settings from this form that is not working into a new form or create a new form and slowly add one by one the extra fields and at the same time test each field.

Ok so I created a new form and add the fields one by one after deleting the fields I didn’t want one by one. The form works and the widgets load correctly until you add a “date” field at which point the widgets don’t load. So it looks like it’s “the date type” field that is causing the problem.

Can you deactivate all your other plugins except this one. Add the date field again and see if it works. If it does then you know that the field date is conflicting with one of your other plugins.

With all plugins deactivated except Fast Secure Contact Form the problem is still the same no date field widgets work, with a date field widgets don’t work.

Thank you for reporting back. I will send a message to Mike Challis the plugin author to investigate further.

Is there any further information or progress on this issue?

    Hi,

I have just found the same issue. Has the author replied to anyone yet?
