Please spend a little time to go over the settings of the theme you’ve chosen to use. This will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I’d never even heard of this theme before, but I just installed it… and within a minute of going over the theme’s settings, it became obvious what’s causing the issue you’re facing.
SIDEBAR:
The theme has one sidebar, but the sidebar can be positioned to the left or right, or disabled completely. Also, the sidebar display can be set separately for individual posts vs pages, as well as the posts/blog page, archive pages, etc.
By default, all settings were set to “No Sidebar”. That’s why the widget you add to your sidebar does not appear on the website.
Please go to your theme’s customizer settings and configure your theme’s sidebar display options:
APPEARANCE => CUSTOMISE => GLOBAL SETTINGS => SIDEBAR SETTINGS
FOOTER:
The theme comes with two separate footer layout options:
Layout Option 1 supports FOOTER SIDEBAR ONE, TWO, THREE and FOUR
Layout Option 2 supports FOOTER LAYOUT TWO
(You should have seen these different footers where you configured your widgets)
Option 2 (FOOTER LAYOUT TWO) is a single column, and it’s the default setting. If you put anything here, it’ll display on your site right away.
Option 1 (FOOTER SIDEBAR 1-4) breaks the footer into up to 4 columns. But this is not the default setting… so if you drop any widget into any of these footers, nothing will appear on your website.
Once again, go to your theme’s customizer settings to configure your footer display options:
APPEARANCE => CUSTOMISE => GLOBAL SETTINGS => FOOTER SECTION
Good luck!
