Widgets not displaying after instituting SSL
-
I am working on adding SSL to my site as required by a 3rd party for skinning/integration of the site with some of their services. All seems to be working okay so far, except that the widgets in the 1st and 3rd footers are now not displaying properly. My question is how this is related to SSL?
NOTE: the SSL certificate I purchased is for the actual final domain, and since my site is still in development, I am forced to use the dedicated IP address until it comes time to assign DNS to the domain. In that regard, if you visit the site, you will get the standard warning of a security certificate mismatch, so to see my problem, you will have to “accept the risk” to proceed. I assure you it’s all legit!
I tried deactivating and reactivating the widgets, and also cleared inactive widgets, removed the widgets from the footer and replaced them again.
Do you think the widgets will show up when the site is finalized and the SSL certificate matches, or is this something else?
(The plugins I am using for SSL are Really Simple SSL and SSL Insecure Content Fixer, though I’m not sure I need both of them.)
