• Please help!

I am almost ready to make my website live but the widgetized footer and sidebars on my site which I’ve had no issues with till now, have stopped working properly.
Every time I log back in to WP, the widgets have all dropped out and appear in ‘inactive widgets’ area and I have to put them all back. Every time I log out and back in, I have to repeat this process.

This is driving me crazy and I can’t work out why this is happening.

    Please help me.

  • Have you tried deactivating your plugins and switching to the default theme to help identify what’s causing the problem?

It may have started since adding a mailchimp plugin but I deleted that one and all the others have been there for some time and not caused an issue. I have hardly any plugins on my account.

How would you say I best go about identifying? I don’t really know what I am looking for.

    1.Deactivate plugins one by one

    2. reset plugins folder in case one may not be fully deactivated

    3. switch to default theme

I’ve done this….. but other than switching it all back on, I’m not sure how to find out what the issue is.

So do you have the problem with no plugins and default theme? If not, switch to your theme – okay? If not, then it’s a theme problem – what theme are you using?

If okay, then reactivate plugins one by one to see which one is troublesome.

Well the theme was controlling the footer widgetized area so the default theme wont display the widgets if not activated.

    I am using Luicid Press
