We had to turn off all plugins when we updated our theme, and when we re-activated the plugin, ALL widgets inside each of the Custom Sidebars DISAPPEARED!!! We have about 20 different sidebars, and now we have to recreate everything from memory. Some had multiple widgets inside.

    VERY FRUSTRATING!

  • Hello @dave8952,

I’m very sorry about this issue caused by our plugin.
I tested this on my site and I was only able to replicate this issue when I have changed theme (so the default sidebars and locations changed) when Custom Sidebars was disabled.
However, all the widgets were just moved to “Inactive widgets” Section so I could drag them back. Have you checked if your widgets are not there?
Widgets were intact when the theme was the same during the deactivation and activation of the plugin.

I will check this issue with our developer to see why this was caused and what can we do to avoid this in the future.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

hello, same problem, after disabling a theme and plugins, I now have 40 widgets disabled. I’m going to have to put them back one by one in the half empty sidesbars, except that since they did not have titles it’s not going to be easy …
the widgets that have not been kept in memory are: Category Posts Widget.

It is already good that the problem is identified, good courage to the developers!

Hello, this is the first time for me to use your product — Custom Sidebars.
However,I wonder why after installing this plugin, the page displays only the footer Widgets option and not the sidebar or other options.

    Hello there @rascin,

please create a new topic explaining a bit more what you’re dealing with. ??
