• Actually, it’s been quite awhile since I’ve edited widgets, so not sure if an earlier version, or a plugin, may be causing this. I can definitely say that it’s not the Google custom search plugin, as others have mentioned, causing the issue.

    I’ve tried both in Chrome and Safari (on OS X); when I click on the triangle to the right of an active widget, it won’t respond.

    Please advise; thanks much!

    It is because of customizing the Twenty-Ten theme, instead of making a child theme of it. Try reverting to the original default WP theme and see if the problem persists.

    Remove all from there location, re-save permalink settings, try again.

    @krishna – I reverted; no change.

    @swansonphotos – what is it that I’m to remove all of…? If it’s the widgets, I’m unable to edit them at all.

    You did not revert to the default theme. You are still on your edited TwenntyTen theme. I just checked up.

    Then who will edit?

    @krishna – I reverted to the default theme, and when I found that the widgets still did not work I put the other theme back.

    I can change it if you’ll get back to me asap; are you speaking the 2010 or Kubrick (I tried both)?

    In any case the theme that you have now will not work. If it shows minor problems only now, later it will show serious problems too. It is NOT developed as a child theme. So, in any case, you have to change it or develop a new child theme keeping Twenty-Ten or Twenty eleven as the parent.

    So, in my opinion, you may revert to the theme TWENTY-ELEVEN and see what happens. First solve the problem, and then you can get the best design of your choice. If you can do that now, I will take a look at it and guide you through.

    I’ve had some quirks with the theme, anyway; I just took that theme before I knew about child themes. Time to make this a little project to clean up and set things as it should be.

    If you’re game, I will work on it over the next few weeks and get back to you.

    Thanks for the assist; will keep in touch.

    You are welcome. Please try and report back.
