Widgets in Storefront are disappearing after some time

Dear Support Team,

please support us with solving the following problem:

for showing our customers important information, we created a HTML widget under the header area (orange bar). The bar is disappearing from time to time, as if the widgets are put on reset.

The problem occurs while creating the widget in Customizer and also if we create it in Dashboard > Design > Widgets. After some time the widget is deleted from the system and we have to create it again manually which is very time consuming. This can happen up to several times a day.

The green bar under the orange bar is not widget based because we only want it to be shown on the homepage. I already found some solutions in the wordpress community but it turned out that we were already running our website like that:

1) set ‘homepage’ as static in settings
2) make sure your shop page isnt set to the same static page as 1)
