Widgets gone crazy, I tried e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g

    I have installed a plugin, called wp-widget-logic to control in what pages do my widgets show up. You say for instance is_home() so the widget will only appear on site.

    Well, not getting it to work, and getting strage results, I desintallled and deleted it.

    But now the whole thing has gone crazy. Widgets show when and where they want. I changed theme to the default, even when I only have one widget active, different pages and articles show different widgets that are not there anymore.

    Apart from not using widgets at all on sidebards I don’t know what to do!!!!!!!

    I haven’t used this plugin, so I don’t know how it works, but it sounds like there may be settings from the plugin left in the database.

    I would try to solve it by reinstalling wp-widget-logic and reset everything in it to default, if that get the site back to normal uninstall & delete the plugin then.

    But this guy has no settings, the only thing it does is adding a little line where you can edit some php to affect when the plugin will be seen.

    Could I see how this has affected the DB??

    Should NOT affect your DB. I use it on multiple sites to great effect. Unless you screwed up your PHP and it somehow passed a command to your db…

    What did you put in?

    To ‘fix’ I would go my database and find ‘sidebars_widgets’ in wp_options table. Copy what’s in there, and put it in notepad. Then delete the content of the field but KEEP the name. Go back into the Widgets panel. See if that at least lets you in. It SHOULD flush everything… Mind I’ve never tried that so ALWAYS backup your DB first ??
