Widgets friendliness with other plugins

  • Is it only me, or does the Widgets plugin preclude the use of things like “My Page Order” or “My Link Order,” as neither works with my theme, Blog.txt 1.2 when Widgets is running. Thanks for any help

    Widgets is perfectly friendly with most plugins. However, those two in particular are not plugins so much as they are modifications to the way WordPress actually works. So it’s quite possible that they won’t work with widgets. Not much can be done about it. This is generally why you want to avoid plugins that replace core files.

    Really. I had no idea. Thanks so much for the response. That said, however, it brings to mind another question: How does one know what plugins “replace core files?” Again, thank you.
