• Running three blogs on 2.9.2 and the latest Thesis theme. On one of them I can not get the widgets to behave. In this one the process for adding a widget is dragging the widget type to the appropriate location in the desired sidebar. The text widgets once installed will appear once and then disappear from the site and the list on the widget page.

On the other two sites you “add” the widgets and then select the sidebar and position instead of dragging and dropping. It appears that the same widget.php files are in the same folders on all three sites.

Any ideas about why the one site uses the drag and drop process? This site was converted from a different theme to thesis recently.

  • Have you tried deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Deactivated all plugins and the problem persists. I don’t understand why the procedure for adding widgets is different in this particular installation. My other two blogs with the same versions of WP and Thesis have a different process (as described in my first post) for adding widgets that works.
