Hi. I want to have a static page as my home page and a separate blog posts page but I realized once I enable the static page, the widgets that I’ve set up disappear. They only reappear when the static page option is removed. Ideas? Thank you!! (this is at https://sevenbutterflies.net.)

I would suggest it has to do with your theme (options) and the link above may help.

Hi, thank you Swanson Photos. I have seen that page and tried to find the answer there. The theme creator used to have a Q&A section along with each theme but he removed it and there is nowhere to get questions answered now. That’s why I turned here – there are some ‘bugs’ that go outside of the standard tutorial on the ThemeZee themes and I thought WP.org folks might know why this would happen and be able to help me resolve it. The tutorial goes through very basic things. I have the widgets set up and it does not address anything more in-depth.

    Thanks.

    Cathryn.

My thought is that the home page and the posts pages do not use the same template php file…without studying that theme, I would not be able to assist.

Also he has a Facebook Page (and badge on his site), the theme is just released a few days ago, and has not been accepted to be included into www.remarpro.com yet.

Ah… thank you for that research. Interesting your thought on the problem’s origin. I suppose I could send him an email. Thank you for the Whois data!

I wrote in on the Facebook page under that theme (just yesterday or the day prior) with no response. I’ve had issues with other themes of his and I do really like his themes but if you hit a glitch it’s hard to get support.

    Thanks —

    Cathryn.

He is probably busy supporting his non-free themes?

Oh! Perhaps. It’s just he used to have a Q&A for the free themes and then he took it all down — I think there were too many questions! Even if he couldn’t respond, there was info in there that I found sometimes helped (things he’d answered to others who had the same question I had). This is a new theme so that’s a whole other story but I think supporting both – free / non-free – ends up being important. Obviously some theme designers do that more than others.
