• I was wondering if widgets are planned on being added to a future version of WordPress, does anyone have some information about that?

    Thank you.

  • I heard that widgets are actually about to be added to Worpress, buts it going to be a while.
I’m trying to start working with wordpress widgets on my site at https://www.uscomco.org, but with no luck so far.

    What the heck are widgets?

I certainly hope not. I’ve not seen any discussion that they will be in the core code.

Might be bundled with the plugins, that I wouldn’t have a problem with.

I hope not as well. Wiggets are Plug-in material.

Let’s hope the WP folks keep the core simple, efficient, bug-free and secure.

Yes, also many themes will break with widgets. However, if there is a way to include them in the core, yet not make them affect anything (for example we can turn them OFF), then that would be good.

It’s good to have the option of having a very clean, efficient set of code from which we can build upon.

    Hi,

uh-huh, don’t do that. For those who want to edit their sidebars widgets are just one more step complicating things.
