widgets admin page acts funny. how to fix?

    Hi, I’ve got widgets installed but the admin page acts funny sometimes.

    Sometimes, when I go to the widgets admin screen, the widgets windows on the right side are empty (even though I have previous placed widget selections there). Refreshing the page makes them show up.

    Also, when I place a widget that requires input, like the rss one, I can’t click on the edit button. The edit window doesn’t come up.

    Lastly, when the selected widgets are visible, the default yellow information window is still visible behind them.

    What should I do?

  • Is this with a dead-stock WP admin (no admin theme)?

    Sounds unusual. If this is a recent install I would try uploading the wp-admin/ directory/files again, just-in-case something is/got mangled.

    Other concerns: Is this the only area/function where you’re experiencing weirdness/errors? Who is your host? Linux server (or M$)?

    Make sure you put the scriptaculous folder into /wp-includes/js/scriptaculous.

    Yeah, I’ve got scriptalicious in there.
    This is not a recent install, but I tried that tiger admin a while ago and then uninstalled it.

    If I just upload that admin/directory and overwrite everything, will my wordpress be affected? I guess I’m wondering if the regular use of wordpress writes changes to those admin files.

    Nope, all your data is safely tucked away in the database. You can safely replace the php files.

    Yeah, uploading a fresh copy of the admin files fixed it.
