• I had a widget in the header of my page and I accidentally dragged it out back into the “Available Widgets” area. no big deal. I just dragged it back in. Now, it will not stay. When I put it back where it was and refresh the screen it doe snot show. When I go back to admin and refresh it is gone again. I am a bit of a newbie and I am pulling my hair out. What the heck is going on.

    Many thanks,
    Houston

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

There are no plugins activated at all (there were only two) . This is a brand new install and only the plugins that come wit WP were installed but not activated. Unless I am missing something. The template I am using is called “Specialist” 1 by Templatic that the client I am doing the web site for sent me. The Widget is unique to this template only so when i switch to another (default) template, this widget is unavailable.

    Any other ideas?

Try increasing the memory available to PHP?
