After updating to WP 5.8 and updating to the latest version of Jetpack, the widgets we use with the visibility filter from Jetpack in the top and bottom positions are showing on every page in the back-end, regardless of the themes we try it with. The front-end is ok.

    Hello, there.

I don’t quite understand your request. What are you trying to accomplish exactly, and what isn’t working the way you expect?

If you’re talking about removing areas of your editors, have you tried hiding the areas with your wp-admin view options? Or are you saying that you can see the widgets you don’t want to appear inside of the content in your page and post editor, but it is properly hidden to the public when published?

If you’d be able to provide us with more details and screen shots of the issues you’re seeing, that would definitely help. Thanks!

Hi, I’m just trying to let the team at Jetpack know that there might be a bug with the latest update (maybe related to WP 5.8). When you want to edit a page in the admin section, all widgets show on top of each other on every page, regardless of the visibility settings of the widget. It just makes it a bit difficult to edit.

On the front-end, the widgets display on the respective pages, so to the public eye, it all looks good.

    Thank you,
    Tony

    Tony,

Thanks for that! As far as I can tell, we haven’t heard of this happening to anyone else.

Because of that, would you be able to try disabling all other plugins except for Jetpack to see if the issue continues? If everything looks normal while doing so, then you can switch on each other plugin one by one until you see the problem happen again.

If you still see the issue even with all other plugins disabled, could you also try switching out your theme for a more minimalistic one (such as Twenty Nineteen) to make sure this isn’t some sort of theme conflict?

Please let us know the results of the above troubleshooting and we can help from there if need be so your editing can go back to normal. ??
