When trying to add a new widget to my website I noticed the Jetpack visibility button disappeared from all widgets.

The visibility criteria I added earlier are still being obeyed, I just can’t change them or create new ones, as the button that give me access is no longer displayed.

Of course, in the Jetpack settings, the option to enable widget visibility controls is on. Jetpack Debug Tool doesn’t show errors either and my module is connected (I tried to disconnect and connect again but it didn’t work).

I’m using Jetpack 10.3 and WordPress 5.8.2 (language Portuguese) with GeneratePress theme.

    I ask for help. Thanks!

  • Hi @jrvcosta

I understand that you are having trouble using the Jetpack Visibility criteria for your widgets.

First, are you using the Block-based Widgets Editor? If that’s the case, then it should work properly; head over to Jetpack → Settings → Writing and scroll down to disable it and enable it again, then clear the cache if you have a caching plugin installed.

You can then head over to Appearance → Widgets and click on a Widget Block to see if the button appears on the Block itself.

If at this point it doesn’t, I’d appreciate it if you shared with us your website URL so we can look into this further; you can reach out to us privately here if you wish to remain private with that. Please include a link to this thread if you do.

Thank you for your prompt reply, Mehdi!

In fact, I’m NOT using the Block-based Widgets Editor! The Jetpack Visibility for widgets only work that way? The visibility button can no longer appear without the Block-based Widgets Editor enabled?

    Thank you again.

I’am talking about the button “visibility” showing here: https://jetpack.com/support/widget-visibility/

In my case, I can’t enable Block-based Widgets Editor because it gives me errors when editing certain widgets, so I use the plugin “Disable Gutenberg” to have a classic widget editor.

The “Jetpack Visibility criteria for widgets” used to work normally that way.
    What happened?
