Widget sidebar not always present

You might be using a plugin that is making that happen, since it is not a feature that is built in to the theme.

ok thanks, with disabled plugins, the sidebars do not display on the homepage (but it is ok on other pages), is this intentional? Thanks.

Ward is designed so that the front page is full width, ie. there is no sidebar.
