Widget SIdebar Editing Not Working

I’ve created a brand new installation and was testing various themes and installing a few widgets. After trying to install a calendar widget in the left column, the functionality stopped working. I can not add or delete ANY widget in the left column any more using teh WP admin. Something has gotten corrupted, but I can’t figure out what to change to reset it without having to do a new installation again. Any help would be appreciated.
