I’m using Genesis with WordPress 3.5 using the multi-site install. If I use a Genesis child theme everything works swimmingly. If I activate a non Genesis theme the widgets page doesn’t fully load, and the sidebar widget containers don’t show up. I can’t use the “Screen Options” dropdown either. If I manually change the screen options all it does is add the “add” link to the few widgets that are loading in the panel. I’ve tried using the error console but it’s not showing me any JS errors at all. This is all confusing!

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

    The site is https://steves-sandbox.com

    Thanks in advance!

I found the issue, and hope this will help anyone else that sees this issue. I ‘network deactivated’ Genesis Tabs and now my widget page is fully loading again.

Do not Network Activate any plugin unless it specifies.

That activate in on all sub sites. If it is a plugin that checks for Genesis (or anything else really – it;s not genesis specific) then the plugin that you network activate will cause problems.

in this case it;s checking for genesis on sub sites without genesis in use.

Hey Andrea – nice to see you on other forums also! ??

I had not thought that through until I had this issue the other day. Thanks for confirming though.
