When I click Control panel > Design > Widgets, the widget page is blank. My website is https://www.creativityatwork.com and have WordPress version 2.5.1. The theme I use is MistyLook 3.6.1. When I updated wordpress I de-activated plugins, and removed old files from site before updated. The widget page is also blank when I choose WordPress default design. Please note I don’t know code.

Please help. Thanks.

• The chances are that a file or files weren’t properly uploaded. I’d suggest uploading at least the entire wp-admin folder again.

Thank you for your suggestion. I de-activated plugins then uploaded the entire wp-admin folder. Still no luck. ??

The login form I see at https://www.creativityatwork.com/blog/wp-login.php is all wrong — the page is missing headers, stylesheet, etc. Has it always looked like that?

I’m not sure why it’s like that, but something’s messed up.

Maybe someone more savvy with WP than I am could take a guess at what might be up?

Again, all I can suggest is that you go a bit further and do a complete upload of the WordPress files.

My login page has never had headers etc. Just the boxes to fill in. Never knew it was supposed to look different. Will try another avenue. Thanks.

Success! I de-activated themed login plugin (Source: <https://www.jameskelly.org/wordpress-plugins/custom-login-and-registration-forms-plugin/> and now my widget page appears! Thanks for pointing the way!

Spoke too soon. Went back to widget page and it’s blank again.

Finally found a solution. My service provider wedohosting.com kindly updated my php server and suggested I had an widget plugin, and sent me this error message from log:
16-May-2008 14:40:40] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare register_sidebars()

Checked this out in wordpress forum and found this answer:
“You need to deactivate and delete the Sidebar Widgets plugin as WordPress 2.3 has native support for widgets.”

Success!
