Widget Not Updating

    Hello,

    I’m using your widget on my site (StraightFresh.net) with Tabber Tabs plugin to display the top posts for the last hour, week and month. However it doesn’t appear that the post list is updating in real time.

    I’ve double checked the list with the most visited posts list in the Google Analytics dashboard to verify. How often does the widget pull stats from the analytics database? This is obviously most noticeable in the tab that displays hourly popular posts because that is the shortest time length and thus the list should be more variable.

  • From the plugin page:

    Plugin uses WordPress transients to cache the Google results so you’re not running the update from Google every time. cache updates every 24 hours.

    I don’t know if this time interval can be changed, although using update=true disables the transients altogether.

    After running the plugin for about a week I realize now that the updates do only happen daily. I assumed that if I set the widget to grab stats for a duration (eg. from the past hour) that it would refresh after every interval, but this was incorrect.
