    Hi,

The issue we have is the map widget isn’t displaying on the live pages recently.

We installed OSM Widget for Elementor over a year ago and it has been working fine. Then recently, even though in the admin you can edit the widget, add markers and the like and it shows on the editing page design, when you go to the live page it doesn’t show.

In Chrome, you get a blank white space where the height of the map should be.

In Firefox, the section of the page isn’t even displayed.

We are using the latest versions of Astra 4.3.1 and Elementor 3.16.6
Looking at similar issues, AIOSEO isn’t activated.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    BSG

    Hi brainsuperglue,

I’ll take a look at it right now, I created a website a few days ago with Elementor (3.16.6) and the OSM Map Widget for Elementor (1.1) plugin and it worked without any problems, so I’m a bit surprised.

I’ll try to recreate the error and get back to you.

    Greetings

So I’ve done some more research. It appears in the later versions of 3.16.x of Elementor that they have deprecated some code which is causing no end of different plugins including some features of Elementor itself to stop working.

Any point releases Elementor have released to fix the issue, clearly aren’t working for this.

I notice also that in other support pages for this plug that it is also mentioned that deprecated code is being used and that Susan from Elementor is trying to contact to plugin writer.

    https://github.com/flopperj/osm-map-elementor/issues/30

I hope the plugin can be updated with non deprecated code as it is a very well laid out plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi brainsuperglue,

I had fully forgotten about the Elementor Deprecations due to my thesis etc.

I’ll do it the next days and adapt the code accordingly. I had already implemented a part of it in an earlier update.

    Best regards

Thanks Niklas, hopefully it’s something obvious to fix.

    Hi brainsuperglue,

I have done an update 1.2 that just went online in which the deprecated code I could find has been completely removed and replaced.

As well as some other optimizations you are welcome to try the update and let me know if your problem still exists.

Hi. I have the same problem.

The map works correctly when I am working inside Elementor but then it disappears when you visit the site without being logged in. Please I need the map to show again. What can I do?

    Hi.

    I think now it works!!
Do I need to set an API key for it to work? Because I was using it without the API key and it did worked well.

    Best,
    Raúl

    Hi botanicoestudio,

for Tile (Free and Custom Map Tile) you don’t need a API key

Only for Geoapify and Mapbox Tile

And you need to whitelist your domain for Stadia Maps Tile

    Best regards
