• Hello,

I am using the Floralia theme for my website https://www.parnellpainting.com

I put the recent posts widget into use. It has someone gone whacky. I can’t figure it out. It worked fine in the beginning, but I must have done something to mess it up. I remember changing the title to read Painting Information, as it reads now in my sidebar.

I tried to edit it a while ago so I could change the amount of post being shown. Then I realized that the little word edit that used to be right on the icon has totally vanished. So the widget will not allow me to do anything with it now, not even remove it from being used. All the widgets I have put into use are still working fine.

I just installed the Floralia theme onto another website I have and the recent posts widget is working fine there. What could I have done to wreck it?

I copied the widget.php from my newly installed Floralia theme and replaced the widget.php on the site that is not working. I thought maybe that could fix it is something happened to the file, that did not fix it.

    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

Sort of came to a solution for this issue. I was not getting any where with this problem. I had another post about it, but sort of going from a different angle, and it seemed to be stumping anyone trying to help me.

I finally found some info with other people having the same problem. They suggested I try and open up my site in another browser. Most people having the same problem were using IE and were able to finally edit their widget by opening in Firefox.

I had the opposite, I only use Firefox, so opened up in IE and I’ll be darned if the widget was not completely normal there and I could edit it.

If I go back to Firefox now, it is still not working in it. So from now on I guess I will just have to remember to open IE if I need to make changes just for that specific widget. How bizarre!

Any feedback from someone who can give an explanation for this would be appreciated. Is this a wordpress glitch or did I do something to cause it?

I have posted this issue in the feedback thread as well.

    Thank you

I’m glad you figured this one out. I’m used to dealing with IE issues but a Firefox issue of this nature is rare indeed. I did run into one the other day that cost me a few hours and really surprised me.
