Widget For Telling Commenter When New Comments Have Been Added

I know I like to be informed about follow-up comments when I post something on another site but that doesn’t seem possible with my current theme. Is there a plugin or widget available that works with any site which will allow a commenter to be informed when someone else responds to him or about the same post? Thanks.
