• I created a new WP site just a couple days ago. I’m using the Zakra theme, in case this is relevant. When I first created the sidebar under widgets, I had the option to chose from the many different ‘widgets’ like sidebar right, left, footer, etc. and then simply drag in whatever block, image, paragraph, etc. rectangle box that appeared to the left of the sidebar I was working on.

Now I need to make changes to the sidebar I created, and this feature is nowhere to be found. I’ve clicked on everything, and nothing…

Is there a different view I need to chose? If so, where is it hiding?

Also, I’m now working on the footer, and whatever I enter in any of the footers (one through six) does not show up on the website.

    HELP!!!

  • If you click on the “W” in the upper left corner of your editor screen, if you are viewing the main page of your site, it should take you back to the dashboard. From here you would click on “Appearance” > “Widget” and then you should be able to edit the content of the widget side bar. Hopefully, this helps!

That’s what I’ve been doing, and no, it’s not helping. But thank you – gotta start somewhere…

Is there a way for me to upload a screenshot here?

It may be related to a plugin that you have installed. Certain plugins that modify your theme’s layout or add custom widgets can interfere with existing widgets, causing them to disappear.

If a widget relies on a specific plugin and that plugin is deactivated or deleted, the widget will no longer appear on your site. Conflicts between multiple plugins can also disrupt widget functionality, making it essential to identify and resolve any plugin-related issues. Turning them off, and then back on, one at a time may help identify the issue.
