• Shortcode does?

The thememylogin widgets seem to not work with the theme I just purchased… even though it included this plugin??? The shortcode is there since I added it but rather on the left, instead of aligned to the right where the widget is placed.

Have the widgets been deprecated? Or am I missing something? I have also sent an e-mail to theme maintainer, hoping for a response… but their turnaround time is 2 days apparently.

My theme is using a custom login page template… upon setting it to default template it seems to work…

Correction. It does not. It still does not show the widget. I removed the shortcode to check.

The widget will not show if:

    • You are logged in.
    • You are currently viewing a TML page.

It sounds like you may be falling under the second point, if you’re adding the widget to the same page with the shortcode?

Even while logged out I could not see it. I had logged out to check that login was working, because by default theme menu link was sent to theme creators login page. I only added the shortcode because the widget wouldn’t display. I’ll try again to make sure I’m not being a lunatic, but I’m positive it’s not working… because that was the first thing my teammate said when he went to login was that he couldn’t see anything.

I mentioned that the second point seems to be your case, meaning, you are trying to use the widget on the Login page, right?

    (@tyrsdei)

Yes, Sorry, I am using it on the /login page

Removed the shortcode… if you will please view again… I also took a screenshot, but I don’t see an option to upload it here.

Why wouldn’t the TML Widget, work on a TML page?

Why would my theme designer have it set that way?

In normal circumstances, the shortcode is used to output the widget on the TML page. Many themes have a sidebar that is common to all pages. And within this sidebar, they may have a login widget. Seeing two login forms on the same page would be silly. Therefore, TML widget is not displayed on TML pages.

I can comprehend that… Then I guess I must contact my theme developer for appropriate configuration I suppose… Don’t know why they would default configure these pages to show the TML widget, and not the shortcode… but they have, and it’s mildly annoying.

The login menu redirects to the login page…

So to re-interpret your response so this thread may be useful for someone else that finds it, is:

Use the shortcode on the login logout, lostpass and register pages? Not the login widget like my theme has configured by default.

Nothing is displayed on these pages without the shortcode? Seeing two login pages wouldn’t even matter, since I don’t even see one. So I don’t get what the TML widget would be conflicting with.

I think this is an err upon my theme developer, maybe based off an older version of TML that didn’t have this restriction perhaps? I haven’t edited anything else on this site. This is the demo of the theme as-is, with just the menu links set to /login and /register

I totally get the not wanting to display two logins but the page doesn’t display anything without the shortcode? I am just trying to clarify that here.

So I can then proceed to my theme developer and request accurate support for a theme function rather than wasting your valuable time further.
