widget area width

    Hi
    How can i change the widget area width??
    Its on 18% now and it makes the side bar goes all the way down,
    when i use firebug to change it to 17% it goes up right in place in front of the content,but i cant find where to change that php!!!
    Can anyone help PLEASE?
