    Hey,
when I activate the Redux plugin I can’t edit the widget areas. These are then displayed with a lock. As soon as the plugin is deactivated, I can edit the widgets again.
What can I do to edit the sidebar again with the plugin activated?

First, I assume you are using the latest version of Redux? You indicated no version number. There was an older version of Redux that contained this behavior, but that was fixed a long time ago.

Otherwise, I am unable to reproduce this issue with Redux out of the box and with a generic theme (2021).

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, it was the latest version until yesterday. But I just did all the updates again, and WP 6.1 is now installed. The problem is still the same.
Viewtube is installed as theme and only the required plugins, including Redux. Elementor is not up to date like on any other theme including elementor…
When I switch to the 2022 I only have the editor in beta, which doesn’t work either.

Here’s the problem: Since I cannot duplicate the issue with Redux and a number of themes that use Redux, I’m not convinced the issue is Redux. But since you are using a premium theme, this is where I am obligated to tell you, per WordPress guidelines, that premium theme support is not permitted here. You will need to contact the theme author with your issue. If they can replicate it and they can determine the cause is Redux, they’ll need to be the ones to contact us with the data they’ve gathered that proves this. We don’t actually support users of themes that use Redux, as we do not have access to premium themes.

    Good luck.

ps – If you disable Elementor and leave Redux running, I will bet the issue goes away. Redux takes a lot of blame for things that are not working with that plugin.

Yes, deactivating Elementor helps ?? Thanks!
So I guess I should ask Elementor about this bug?

I tracked the issue down to the theme, which is using a WP_Query to poll Elementor, and it’s doing it while initializing Redux…so that’s why both plugins look suspect. But, I don’t support individual themes and have no idea why that section of code is hosing up the widgets screen. Is it Elementor? Or is the theme doing something wrong? Don’t know. That’s for the theme author to figure out. It isn’t Redux, though.

    Good luck

Thanks for your Support. I just updated everything again and had a closer look at the widget page. When I open the console there is one “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<‘” on your redux-extension-widget-areas.min.js:1.
Is this something caused by the Elementor Plugin?
