Widget Area Issues

    I’m struggling a bit with the widget area functionality (customizer).

    I want to create some extra widget areas for a certain page/page-template of my child theme.

    I managed to create new widget areas using “Create And Manage Widget Areas” and I even added the new widegt areas to the page template but as I’m gonna use new widegt areas what do I have to enter for location?

    If I leave it empty, no location is set. Is this how it’s ment to be?

  • Hi 3T_MJ. In your new widget area Location, you can select a predefined Location that is available on the page you are previewing and your widget will be placed there. However, if you’ve added the widget area to the page template using the WP dynamic_sidebar() function, then you can leave the Location blank.
