• Hello, the link I put is from the old site I have, the theme works perfectly, while on the new one I’m building now, the home page doesn’t work and there aren’t many options, like the slider, it’s the third time I’ve tried but it seems that with the classic editor there is no way.
Honestly, blocks/Gutenberg are a drama to work with.
I’m not a professional, but I would like to understand why it is not possible to use the Classic editor on this new installation.
    Thanks for any response.
Ps. I can’t insert images here :), can you tell me how to show them?
This is the link to the new site, where I had set the slider, but the page crashed.

There are no images inserted yet.
I was planning to buy the pro version, but with these problems, I don’t know.

  • Hi simoflc,

    Thanks for reaching us,

On the site here: https://simonerd.it/, currently, only the posts are displaying. WordPress, by default, displays the latest post on the homepage. However, in the ColorMag demos, we have displayed sliders and other various layouts using the ColorMag theme. These layouts are not being displayed on your end because you have not imported the demo. Unless you have imported the demo, the site doesn’t look like the demos.

Since you already have the post on your end, importing the demo content will add its own posts and other various content, due to which we do not recommend importing the demo. The demo is mostly imported on a fresh WordPress Installation.

However, even without importing the demo, you can create the site like the demo. The ColorMag theme is based on widgets, so you’ll need to add the content on the widgets area to display the layout as that of the demo. For that, we have documentation that describes which layout to add to the respective widgets. Here is the link: https://docs.themegrill.com/colormag/docs/how-to-edit-imported-demo-site/.

For example, if you want to add the slider, navigate to WordPress Dashboard> Appererence > Customize > Widgets > Front Page: Slider Area. Inside the area, please add the widget ?TG: Featured Category Slider. This will display the slider on your end and so on.

Also note that for displaying the slider, you’ll also need to add the content to the area beside the slider. For your confirmation, please check the screenrecording here: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/24845116?key=af0fc1ec0de14271c0a6fafff2cd5dec

Please follow the guideline and let me know of any issues or confusion.

    Regards

Thanks for the immediate response, if you see I also put the link to the old site, which unfortunately was hacked and compromised, on that site I have the same versions and I have no demo, everything works perfectly, in the video I linked, if you You’ve seen that the settings are blocked and I have no way of acting on the sliders.
It’s the third attempt, i had already tried with posts complete with images, manually reporting 6500 images.
the problem is that when the classic editor is active, everything freezes and entries in the widgets disappear. If I can enter the images I’ll show you.

    @ahdbreem

I solved it by starting completely from scratch, setting up the page properly after having done all the tests in a local version.
I haven’t found the solution to fix that installation
