  • I too am having problem. The widget has broken since the update.

I have it set to Grid (month) view and now it appears as unformatted full entries.

See the lower right “Upcoming Events” on the homepage https://www.robkmusic.com

That is really weird since we never encountered this in our tests before release. Could you try a could thing and let me know what happens?

    1. Switch to a default theme and see if it fixes.

    2. Try removing and recreating the widget.

    Thanks!

#2 was the first thing I tried.

Yes it works in the default themes.

    Damn.

Alright, I started the “who’s not playing nicely with their friends” plugin game. It’s conflict with Widget Manager Light which I use quite a bit. I guess I’ll have to figure out an alternative solution.

I can try neither at the moment, as the effected site is a production site. I will try to setup a test site on Monday.

I will mention that using a direct link to the wordpress calendar (vs. an embedded calendar in a post) resulted in the calendar AND the widget displaying entries correctly (with some minor glitches here and there).

To rob: I don’t use that plugin, so my issues appear to be theme based (or likely something in the CSS of my theme not likely a CSS change in the updated plugin).

How are you setting the calendar for the widget?

Are you using the “Google Calendar Events” widget that is built-in or are you pasting the shortcode into a text widget or something similar?

    (@johnlatham)

The built in widget. Like I mentioned before, both the widget and calendar are broken with the update when the calendar is embedded in a post (or if the widget is the only calendar on the page).

The calendar and widget mostly work (the widget doesn’t always show the tooltip popups correctly) when the calendar is loaded directly.

I’d like to amend my last post. Yes, deactivating Widget Manager Light corrected the display problem but as with JohnLatham, the next and back buttons still do not work and the popups don’t work. I can’t even click on a date to force a popup.

And this problem also exists with in default TwentyFifteen theme.

I have the same issue as JohnLatham and robkosinski. Grid view doesn’t display popups anymore. Clicking on the date does nothing. Next/Previous works fine for me though.

I switched my actual calendar over to grouped list for now because the calendar can’t be down. Here’s a temporary page so you can take a look: https://www.unscrewedtheater.org/gce_feed/calendar-2/

This is the error that shows up in Chrome’s console when I hover over an item:
    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'call' of undefinedx-body.min.js:1 ux-body.min.js:1 t.fn.imagesLoadedjquery.qtip.js:633 x._waitForContentjquery.qtip.js:619 x._updatejquery.qtip.js:639 x._updateContentjquery.qtip.js:198 x.renderjquery.qtip.js:1483 (anonymous function)jquery.js?ver=1.11.1:2 m.isFunction.e

We just pushed 2.2.1 to fix some issues with the CSS/JS and the calendar ID encoding. Please try updating to that and then let me know if you are still having troubles after that.

    Thanks!

@rob, 2.2.1 should let you use the Widget manager like you were before I think.

Yup, good to go on all counts.

    Thanks!

Sweet glad we could get it working for you!

    Thanks,

P.S. If you get a chance would you mind leaving a plugin review (if you haven’t already)? It helps a ton.

Unfortunately it’s still an issue for me. Is there anything I need to do after updating the plugin to see the update? I tried clearing the cache but no luck.

I won’t be able to try anything until Monday. I will let you know how it goes once I get my test site up and going (I have learned my lesson on updating the production site without testing first).

I setup my test site this morning (restored wordpress backup to a virtual machine host and tested it there).

2.2.1 works fine on that system, so I proceeded to try it on my production site and it is working there too.

Thanks so much for the assistance, you can mark this as closed.
