• Hi!

Someone helped me to remove both sidebars from my single posts. And it is working fine. Theme: Magazine Basic site: here
But now I would like to make use of the free space left by those sidebars. The point was just to be able to have a wider text column or display bigger images.

I understand I have to change the css but anything I find there is width: 100% which makes me think that the key is somewhere else.

Could someone help me with this one?
    Regards
    Erico

  • Change the 100% to 980px in quotation marks.

Thanks! I have my text lines in the desired lenght but the image is still squeezed as if the sidebars still where there.
    Look here
    Any suggestion?

Your theme has embedded styles, so look in the theme files (like header.php) for the css. Also check the dashboard theme options to see if you can easily change the display this way.

Manually removing a sidebar is a major theme edit and you will have to change the widths of multiple divs and you’ll have to add new css classes or ids if you want the change to appear on only some templates (like single.php).

Thank you. Slowly I am understanding that ??
If I change one thing something else will show up. But, as long as you are not in a hurry, it is the charm of it.
I will calm down for I while and decide what changes really are necessary.
