• Hi all,

I’m not sure if this has been addressed yet, but I just discovered this issue tonight after updating to WordPress 3.6.1.

I had begun getting the BlockUI update error and had tried all suggestions of deactivating plugins until discovering which was causing the error, however this ended up not being the issue. I even tried the jQueryUpdate plugin to no avail.

My issue turned out to be the Widely WordPress Theme’s outdated jQuery.

To fix this issue, I discovered the jquery.BlockUI.js file inside the /wp-content/themes/widely/themeskingdom/script folder and replaced it with the updated BlockUI code located here: https://malsup.github.io/jquery.blockUI.js. This solved the problem.

I imagine this may end up being the case with a lot of the ThemeKingdom themes; I believe they include many libraries and call them locally.

Hope this saves someone from banging their head against a wall for an hour like I did.

That’s not a theme distributed or supported here (commercial theme’s are not supported in these forums even if you paid nothing) but a few things:

    1. If they’re shipping with their own jquery then they are Doing It All Wrong™ and should know better
    2. Modifying the original theme is a problem because if they update the theme and do not fix the mistake they’re making then you’ll lose those edits and updated library.
    3. Have you considered contacting the theme author directly on their site? Since none of their theme’s are supported here then the best solution would be them fixing their themes. ??

Thanks, graecyn! Worked great. I manage multiple sites and one of my users likes this theme. Am not going to offer it anymore to new sites.

Also noticed you “updated” their comments. Good on you!
