• Hi,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I sort of know what I am after but I have been searching for days to find a way to do it.

All I would like to do is have a box pop up that the visiter can close if they wish that allows me to either insert a java code into the box so visitors can either subscribe to a newsletter or collect a free report. It’s sort of like a popup box.

I have visited a site that when you hover over a link a snap shot pops up that can be clicked on. Maybe this would work by sending them to an external splash page for them to sign up. I would prefer to keep my visitors somewhere on my site though.

Just had a thought while writing this how easy or hard is it to turn a html page into a blog page.?

Sorry for the ramblings once I work this part out my blogs are complete almost.

    2. Another problem i am having is with feedwordpress yes it does work but my problem is that it doesn’t update automatically as i am not able to use crontabs on my server unless i upgrade. Is there a simple way around this or another plugin that does the same thing.?

    Thanks
    Gail

  • I’m unclear what you’re trying to accomplish, but maybe this could be of assistance:

Richard Miller wrote a neat plugin that displays a message that new visitors see the first few times they visit your site.

See the website linked to the author of comment #56 on Richard’s site for an example of what this custom message (with links) can look like.

    Hi Lk,

Thanks for your response this wasn’t what I was looking for when I posted this message but it has solved another idea I wanted to do so thankyou.

I have found a very simple solution to the 1st problem I had.

The only outstanding issue is getting feedwordpress to update automaticlly.

    Thanks
