    Hi @juanforce

When checking https://www.verzdesign.com/our-services/marketing-services/seo, we do see that you’ve set the SEO title as:

<title >SEO Company Singapore | Best SEO Agency & Services in Singapore </title>

When doing a SITE: search in Google, we see it is a different title appearing in the search results. When checking the cached version, it was as of last May 2, 2022. Did you just recently change the title after that date? If so, you might need to wait before Google crawls the page again and detects the updated information.

You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/google-shows-different-titles-for-my-site/

    Hi @mikes41720,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve checked with our team. We didn’t touch https://www.verzdesign.com/our-services/marketing-services/seo page since long. To check the Last revision, please check this image.

We found other pages which have same issue Yoast SEO Title & Google SERP Title are different.
    1) Page URL: https://www.verzdesign.com/our-services/consultation-services/psg

Google SERP Title. Please check this image.
Singapore PSG Pre Approved Vendor | Verz Design

Yoast title. Please check this image.

    2)
    Page URL: https://www.verzdesign.com/our-services/marketing-services/sem

Google SERP Title. Please check this image.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Services - Verz Design

    Hey @juanforce,

Thank you for the screenshots and URLs.

I’ve checked them and our output is correct, what you’ve entered in the Yoast SEO title field is being output as the title. However, Google is rewriting them cause they think another title might fit the search intent, location, search term, or any other factor.

That’s up to Google. The SEO title or meta description you suggest is not the one that will be shown 100% of the time, depending on different factors. Michael linked an article on our site that just goes over this: https://yoast.com/help/google-shows-different-titles-for-my-site/

You might want to adapt or try other titles that make more sense for your audience. Keep in mind that Google doesn’t like pipes either and tends to remove them, like mentioned in https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-changes-more-than-61-percent-of-title-tags/435618/.

    Good luck on optimizing!

    Hey @jeroenrotty,

    >>Google is rewriting them cause they think another title might fit the search intent, location, search term, or any other factor.

If Google rewrites our webpage title, what’s the purpose of optimising our page title then? If I’m not wrong title tags are the second most important SEO factor.

I read one of your Yoast articles where blog author Amy less mentioned about page title.

Do you think It might be more difficult to rank webpage on SERP?
Do you also think we should still optimise our Page title even Google rewrites it?

Because one of our team members found another web page where Google title & Yoast SEO title looks different.

Google SERP title. Please check this image:
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Services - Verz Design

Yoast title. Please check this image.

@juanforce Thanks for your reply. We’ve identified several concerns in your message and responded to each below:

If Google rewrites our webpage title, what’s the purpose of optimising our page title then?

Google doesn’t always rewrite the title, only when it believes a better version can be generated based off exactly what the sure searched.

Do you think It might be more difficult to rank webpage on SERP?

No, this shouldh’t make any issue with Google changing the title.

Do you also think we should still optimise our Page title even Google rewrites it?

Yes, we still recommend optimizing your title as best you can.
