Why won’t categories show on index?

  • This is probably a n00b question, but why won’t the categories I’ve added show up under the “Categories” menu on the main page?
    I’ve got a pretty vanilla install of WordPress (just changed some colors).
    Is there something else I must do in order to show all categories in the “category” menu on the right side?

    Ok, never mind. Just found it in the index.php file. Thanks a ton, it worked just fine.
    I thought that WP hid the empty categories, but I entered a post in a non-general category, but it still didn’t show up. So what is the default behavior supposed to be? Do you know?

    Glad that it worked ??
    As far I know, that’s the default behavior. I think that it may be caused because the ‘Family Stuff’ category is actually a subcategory, but then, I’m not really sure.
