• If StarBox plugin is not a security concern, Why was StarBox removed from the WordPress repository? and when will it return?

Two weeks ago a support thread was closed ending with “It’s not a serious concern. Relax” and yet the plugin has not returned to the repository yet. WordFence continues to report it.

    Thanks

    Hi,

We do not control the WP Directory and we are in discussions to publish Starbox again on directory.

Until then, you can download the free version from here: https://storage.googleapis.com/starbox/free/starbox.zip

    Hi Calin,

We have Starbox Pro Version 1.4.6 and it isn’t rendering right with Safari browsers. Do you have an update in the works for it? We hope so because it is really a nice little author box plugin and we would love to continue to use it. Please let us know.

    Thanks,

UPDATE: it was a plugin conflict and we found and disabled the plugin causing the issue.

Wordfence flags Starbox as a problem. It is no longer in the WordPress repository. The plug-in creators refuse to say why. We can only assume Starbox poses a malware threat.

Can anyone suggest a replacement for this once excellent plug-in?
