Why was GA taking out of WOOcommerce?

    Was thinking of adding woo to our install but why do you need this add-on now? If google analytics was previously supported in woo commerce why did they remove it?

    I can see that woo is one of the developers behind this… Seems strange… Might have to keep looking… Don’t want to get involved with a company that built a good solution but is now dismantling it to make more money… Not that this add-on cost money but many of their products do…

  • Hey Action,

    WooThemes took it out of core so that they could update separately. That way if there was a big change in Google Analytics it could be pushed out immediately and people could use it right away.

    It’s a big harder to push out a new version of WooCommerce (because many things change and need testing) and people are bit more skeptical about updating WooCommerce because it’s a big plugin so they wouldn’t update as quickly.
