• Hi, my colleague systematically updates all our client’s sites as soon as a new version of the theme we’ve bought and used is released. I see no reason to do this if the site is up and running nicely and we’re doing no further development on it. Can I have your thoughts please? When is it sensible to update a theme?

    Thank you!

Ask your theme’s vendors/ authors for a release log. Then you can judge whether the updates are necessary

I guess this is only necessary if a security weakness has been resolved?

    It’s too ambiguous to answer

OK fair point, but I see no reason to update a theme if the site has been launched, the client is happy and there are no apparent issues. We’re talking mainly brochure sites here

    Thanks
