Why there’s no default posts archive

  • Why, while there’s an out-of-the-box archive page ?post_type=<custom_post_slug> for any custom post type (with has_archive), ?post_type=post doesn’t work for the default ‘post’ posts archive? (it should call either archive.php or index.php)

  • When you say it doesn’t work, what do you mean?
    I can use a URL like that and I see a list of posts.
