Why the borders at the top and bottom of the header?

  • A custom header selectable through the UI is a nice touch but why the 4px top and 1px bottom black borders? I’d suggest eliminating those in the CSS or allow the user to turn borders on/off in the UI.

    Sorry if this has been suggested but I can’t find a sub-forum specific search function here.

    What theme are you talking about? If it’s 2010, you can make a child theme and edit that out via CSS.

    I’m talking about 2010 and my suggestion is based on what a non-technical user would want. If WordPress is supposed to be accessible and friendly to non-developers, making a child theme and editing CSS is not a good solution. A simple UI switch for those borders would be a much better approach.

    I disagree. You have to expect people to be willing to learn the basics of file editing, FTP, a LITTLE PHP (i.e. the basic idea of what it is) and, if they want to edit themes, CSS and HTML.

    I think that it’s a reasonable assumption that people are going to learn.
