Why no updates?

This was a great plugin. I can only imagine it was abandoned by the lack of donations. It had over 2 million loads. Considering the number of people that loved this and the lack of any replacments, what about creating a paid version. That being said, be creative and make the price minimal, like $2. $2 times 2 million uses is $4 Million dollars. People would not think twice about paying $2 for this plugin. ??
