  • Hi,

    Since you are using gtmetrix to gauge your page load speed.

    You can following their optimization guide here, in order to speed up your page load.
    https://gtmetrix.com/wordpress-optimization-guide.html

    Thank you

    I checked yur site at webpagetest.org . Here is the result:
    https://www.webpagetest.org/result/160718_MF_G0K/1/details/

    You need to optimize your png-s to web (use Smush.it or tinypng.com). Add ExpireHeaders (in .htaccess), and check your caching (use W3 Total Cache). Try to minify CSS and Javascript (use plugin).

    Do you currently use a CDN for images? One like CloudFlare might help.

    As well as the other suggestions above, if you take a look at the waterfall on GTMetrix, WebPageTest and Pingdom, they show two other issues:

    1. Your server is slow to respond (the time for the first byte of data). This ranges between 1-5 sec. Not satisfactory. I would do some testing with a default theme loaded (e.g. Twenty-Fifteen), and also try testing with the P3 Profiler to see if any plugins are resource heavy. If you can optimise your site as suggested above and rule out any theme or plugin placing a heavy load on the server, then you would have a strong case to take up with your host (who might offer to move the site to a different server (good sign), or suggest that you pay more to upgrade your hosting package (bad sign)).

    2. You seem to have 2 slow calls to gosocial.in/call/medianet/ I can’t see any obvious advertising on your page. Perhaps you could try deactivating the plugins to see which one is making these calls.

    Good luck!

    @Barnez,
    I have tried deactivating the plugins and I found that one plugin was the problem. So I have removed that and now the load time is close to 4 seconds.
    I will talk to Bluehost, who is my service provider. That “gosocial.in/call/medianet/” is the advertisement. Unfortunately I have to keep that.

    @javawpscript: I am not that smart. Can you explain what that is?

    @hehehuhu:

    You need to optimize your png-s to web (use Smush.it or tinypng.com).

    Thanks!! I will do so.

    Add ExpireHeaders (in .htaccess)

    Already done

    and check your caching (use W3 Total Cache)

    In past it has slow down my site

    Try to minify CSS and Javascript (use plugin).

    Can you recommend me one?

    For minify, use this plugin:
    Better WordPress Minify

    Serve scaled images:
    you need to modify 2 pictures sizes.
    Optimize images:
    Use Smush.it plugin, or use tinypng.com for your picture optimization.
