Why keep the plugin active after completion

  • Not a help request, but I’m just interested.

    In the configuration page, it tells me to keep the plugin activated. Why is this? All the work is being done, as far as I can tell, is done in the code that I pasted in the Blogger theme.

    Some clarification would be very nice.
