Why isn’t yoast creating the default meta descriptions for me? Yoast was not functioning at all on pages where I did not manually set the meta. I am doing this now for every page (I only have 14) but I have too many posts to do it all manually (hundreds).

    What’s wrong?

When I set the meta manually it started working as expected but prior to that there was no Yoast code visible in the page source at all.

As I understand it if I don’t specify a meta it should take the first [150 is it?] characters of the content but it’s not doing that.

    Thank you

    Anyone?

How about on a new site how do you set Yoast to take default meta descriptions? I seem to vaguely remember a setting for this in the older versions but I didn’t see it in the latest. I simply want to take the first few characters of my pages, posts or special post types and make a meta description if not otherwise specified.

    Thanks.

    Can nobody answer this?

Version 3.x.x is still buggy and unstable… And there is no support for free version from Yoast team.
So the best thing is to roll back to version 2.3.5 (working perfect with wordpress 4.4.1 and all new versions of plugins), waiting for a stable and unbuggy update.

You can find “how” in here.

If you want some attention of Yoast team, post in rating section…

    Thanks for the updates.

It sure is buggy. I’m having another problem too.
